Founder & Principal Engineer, SyD Projects
I founded SyD Projects in 2010 and have personally led every engagement on this page, from the first requirements workshop to the production server. Over 15 years I have designed backend platforms, REST APIs and database-driven systems for banks, universities, retailers and export companies across Latin America, leading development teams of five to six engineers while staying accountable for delivery.
Alongside the practice I built KlienteX, a SaaS platform for monitoring customer satisfaction in retail, from zero to production. It received competitive seed funding from CORFO, Chile's economic development agency, and it is the platform behind the checkout case below.
I trained as a Civil Engineer in Computer Science at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María and I am a certified auditor of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 integrated management systems. That quality background is why the platforms we deliver ship with documentation, checklists and a tested rollback path. Today I lead the practice from Auckland, New Zealand.

A people and management platform for one of Chile's largest wine groups
A multi-year engagement covering the systems Viña San Pedro Tarapacá uses to evaluate its people, track management indicators and run internal processes. We carry the platform from design through daily operation.

Teaching evaluation for every lecturer, every term
The system a 17,000-student university uses to evaluate its regular and adjunct faculty across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, from survey intake to institutional reporting.

Real-time customer experience, measured at the checkout
Touchscreen kiosks beside the payment terminal ask each customer to grade their visit. Results stream into a business intelligence platform that flags locations at risk. The platform is KlienteX, our own SaaS product built from zero to production and backed by CORFO seed funding. It also served Esval, Rhona and JIS Parking.

Hosted by us, or built inside your infrastructure
Each platform runs where the client's policies require. Some clients want us to operate the whole stack. Others, such as VPC and consulting firms working under their own security rules, need the platform developed and deployed on servers they control. We work both ways.

- Linux hosting for more than 15 production sites and their databases, with one party responsible end to end
- Web application firewall (ModSecurity v3) with a custom rule set modelled on OWASP guidance
- Tiered off-site backups to a separate cloud provider: databases every 4 hours, files daily
Inside the client's infrastructure
- Development and deployment on the client's own servers, reached through their VPN and following their access policies
- Integration with the systems already in place, such as corporate SQL Server databases and Microsoft Entra ID sign-in
- Coordination with the client's IT team on firewall rules, release windows and production sign-off
